Online Church Event Promotion with Google
When you are trying to promote an event, Google should be your first port of call. It is such a useful tool to use when promoting events because it has such a massive network of partner sites to display your ads. It is also the world’s number one search engine, so if someone is searching for something online, chances are they are using Google.
Google allows you to effectively target people with your advertisements by using the Google Search Network and the Google Display Network. These are two of the tools the Google offers to allow you to target people online.
Google Search Network
The Google Search Network allows you to target people with your ads when they conduct a search in Google. When creating a Google Search Network campaign, first you create an Ad Group. This is a group of keywords that are related to the event you are trying to promote. When someone searches on Google for these keywords, your ad will appear in the sponsored Google search results.

Google Display Network
The Google Display Network allows you to place ads on Google’s partner sites across the web. If you have ever seen an ad on a website, more than likely it is being shown to you through Google’s Display Network. This is a great way to target a very relevant audience, as your ads will appear on websites that are being viewed by people in your target demographic.
When you are creating an advertisement for the Google Display Network or the Google Search Network, each ad gets graded by Google on a scale of 1-10. Each ad gets assigned a score which is called it’s Quality Score. The higher your quality score is, the better your ad will perform, and the less it will cost. The best way to ensure you get a great quality score is to ensure that your ad leads to a landing page that is related to the keywords in your ad. Google loves relevant content, so the more relevant your landing page is to your ad, the better it will perform!
Online Church Event Promotion Landing Pages
Having keyword optimized landing pages are vital for the success of your online church event promotion efforts. Having relevant pages will not only make your pages appear higher up in the Google rankings, but will also give your visitors a better user experience, as the page is very relevant to what they are searching for. While ensuring that your landing pages contain relevant keywords is important, there are also a number of on-page SEO techniques you can use to ensure your pages fulfill their potential.
- Page Titles: Your page titles are one of the most important SEO factors on your site, so write a title that matches the Focus Keyword for the page.
- Meta Descriptions: Give your page a Meta Description that is relevant to the Keyword you are optimizing for, and also make sure the description contains your focus keyword.
- Keyword Placement: Write the Focus Keyword into the first paragraph of the page.
- Meta Tags: Tag the pages with keywords so that they match the keywords in the Felt Needs Ad Groups.
- Image Tags: Tag images that appear on the page with alternative text so they match the focus Keyword.
- URL Structure: Include the Focus Keyword in the page’s URL.
- Word-count: Ensure your page has at least 300 words, because Google loves pages with lots of content.
- Body Tags: Use headers that contain your focus keyword (H1, H2, etc.).
- Keyword Density: Insert your Focus Keyword into your webpage at least once for every 100 words.
- Internal Linking: Link to other pages within your site using keywords as anchor text.
